Welcome

I offer clinical therapeutic, remedial, sports, deep tissue and trigger point massage at The Consulting Rooms, Woodland Herbs and Life Medicine in Glasgow, Scotland.

My clients are people from all walks of life and have included professional and amateur athletes, company directors, office workers and taxi drivers to name just a few. I treat all kinds of musclular skeletal conditions, but specialise in upper back, shoulder, neck and jaw pain, lower back and sciatic pain, and trigger point problems.

Many of todays jobs involve sitting at a desk for long periods of time with little other activity during the course of the day and often little activity during recreation time. This is a recipe for pain and discomfort, your body was designed to move and be flexible and unless you use it in this way it is going to get stuck and re-shaped in to the position you adopt when sat at your desk.

If you suffer from sporadic and spontaneous pain that comes and goes depending on what you are doing, or you feel stiff and sore when getting up in the morning or getting home after work, you may well benefit from a professional massage targeted at ironing out those kinks, stretching your muscles and de-activating any trigger points.

If you spend your working days hunched over a computer - then go get a massage! I suffer from aching shoulders and back from time to time, which led me to get a massage from Trevor. The relief was phenomenal and I now attend regularly as a preventative measure. Trevor’s advice on stretches is also great. - Fiona

Each massage treatment is tailored to your specific needs that day. For each treatment I draw upon a wide range of massage techniques including;

  • Swedish massage (relax) - The most commonly offered and best known style of massage. Developed by Henri Peter Ling at the University of Stockholm in 1812, it uses a firm but gentle pressure to soothe and relax.
  • Therapeutic massage (maintain) - Similar to Swedish massage but targeted more on releasing muscle stiffness and tension than relaxation. Commonly focuses on one specific part of the body in need of a deep treatment rather than the whole body. Extremely effective for loosening tight muscles.
  • Remedial massage (cure and fix) - Involves the use of deep tissue massage techniques such as NeuroMuscular Technique (NMT), Positional Release Technique (PRT), Soft Tissue Release (STR), Trigger Point Therapy (TrPT) and Integrated Neuromuscular Inhibition Technique (INIT) to repair and re-align muscle fibers.
  • Sports massage (prepare) - Perfect for professional and amateur athletes, consists of specific massage techniques to invigorate muscles prior to strenuous activity and afterwards helping to remove toxins from the muscles.

I always strive to give you the maximum benefit possible from each and every treatment.
