Taoist Chi Gung

As some of my clients know, I have been practising Taoist water method Chi Gung and Nei Gung on and off for many years. I personally find it very relaxing, yet energising and it does wonders for my stiff back. Here I've brought together some information and instructions that you may find helpful if you are interested in finding out more about Chig Gung or want to start practicing.

My instructor Ben Gilbert has written a brief summary about learning Chi Gung and its objectives which you can download - More about Chi Gung (PDF)

Bon monasteries and Chi Gung trek in Nepal

This is a long and unique trek to visit Bon Monasteries and learn about this hidden and preserved culture far away from roads and electricity in a lonely and stunning landscape. One of the best and most remote treks in the world. - 36 days.

A spritual trek to the high and remote Dolpo region of Nepal to vist Bon monasteries and have a chance to learn some Daoist Chi Gung every morning before breakfast! Nominated to be a World Heritage site - Dolpo is culturally unique in that it is, according to one commentator - "the last enclave of pure Tibetan culture left on earth".

This trek is remote and very challenging. It takes us through breathtaking high Himalayan landscape devoid of trees and full of ancient history and mythology. A refuge for the snow leopard and ancient Tibetan culture with plenty of monasteries for us to discover. The itinerary has been written to give a long and relaxed trek through very challenging and remote terrain with plenty of time to visit monasteries and practice Chi Gung without the pressure of being in a hurry.

Sailung - Meditation and Spiritual Teachings Trek

Gentle trek in Himilayan foothills practising Chi gung and visiting holy sites - 17 days.

We will provide daily Chi Gung, meditation, spiritual and Buddhist teachings in the mornings before trekking and some meditations at holy spots. Camping/Tea house trek with spectacular mountain views, through the little-travelled Mahabharata Hills inhabited by the indigenous Tamang people whose religion is a fusion of Buddhist Lamaism and the Shamanist Bon culture; it is not uncommon for a village to have both a Lama and a Jhankri (Shaman). Visiting villages and monasteries there is plenty of time to meet the local people and learn about their culture.

Rowling Himal is under the shadow of Gauri Shanka where we visit two monasteries which leads to the Sailung sacred hill with a panoramic Himalayan vista including a view of Everest. The famous Buddhist necklace beads come from trees that grow only in this area and Buddhists come from Tibet to purchase them for their prayer necklaces.
